So it's been a while, yeah? I don't know where to begin. What's been happening, I hear you ask? Well, look, what HASN'T been happening might be a better question.
Since I last posted, I think this has happened;
1. Sold our beautiful house for less than we paid for it. Have only just stopped bawling my eyes out about this emotional and financial setback but still FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS AND ALL THAT EH WHAT.
2. Moved to Brisbane. I chose our rental house in what can only be described as RUSHED and LESS THAN IDEAL circumstances that were mainly about me panicking we wouldn't have a roof over our heads and now we have ended up with a character-filled but also REPULSIVELY RUNDOWN hovel. Mould, stained bath, rotten gutters, filthy venetian blinds. And so forth. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger RIGHT PEOPLE!? It's not so bad *coughs up a lung from mould spore contagion*
3. P started prep. I KNOW RIGHT WHERE DID THE TIME GO MY BABY AND ALL THAT. Seems to be going gangbusters after a shaky start.
4. Graduated as a teacher *heck yes*. Got temporary contract at fancy pants girls school. Interesting times.
There's probably other stuff but I'm exhausted from squabbling children and eating too many jelly snakes - WHAT'S NEW HEY SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE!
Tell me what's been going on with you.
Ciao.
Mould spores. The work of the Devil. But still, least you are centrally located. Well done re the teaching gig xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteYes the location is good I can't complain. Thank you xx
DeleteOuch! Burn about the house sale.
ReplyDeleteAnd then salt and wounds to move into a grotty house. Lest it's a rental and you can leave.
True, true!
DeleteUgg, mould! I fight a constant battle with mildew in my bathroom (apparently having an extractor fan the size of the back wall would probably cure it ...). Congrats on being a proper honest to goodness teacher!! What's been going on with me - more of the same disasters, calamities and those damned things- some things never change (Oh, and Miss Mac has LEFT SCHOOL!!!) xx
ReplyDeleteIt is so gross! I hate mould! That is v exciting re: Miss Mac finishing school!
DeleteMy brother and sister-in-law had to do that too (sell and rent), but eventually ended up buying a nicer house in a better area, so hopefully it will all work out for you guys. Nothing very exciting happening here except I'm not a bogan any more! I'm all classy now. Shut up... Great to hear from you. Congrats on the teaching job xo
ReplyDeleteI hope that happens to us!! How funny you aren't a bogan! I am almost sad!
DeleteI loved your house!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, but in practical terms it is SO HARD to live in.
DeleteYou've had so much going on in your life it's quite worn me out thinking about it. Hope things improve for you even more than they have.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a long term lease where you are? Hope the answer is not to that!!
Dear Mimsie, it has been a big year so far! Our lease is up in January so we will struggle on til then. There are good things about the house too, like the Hills Hoist and the inner city location. SO I shouldn't really complain...but still...the mould..and the bath.....they are pretty killer...not in a good way!
DeleteI read this on Thursday night in my hotel room at the ProBlogger and squealed in delight. I am now sick, battling a delayed hangover and am possibly considering doing the opposite, blogging less and channeling more energy into Write Styling! Love your work x
ReplyDeleteI was at least partially responsible for that hangover, which should surprise no one!
Deletemmmmmmmmm... jelly snakes. If they are the Natural Confectionary ones, the purple and yellow ones are DA BOMB and the rest suck balls.
ReplyDeleteEhhh hemm, tapping my foot over here NS - you do know you actually have to come back to make a comeback ... ;-) xx
