Climate change refugees. Family circus.

I'm sorry, I can't hold it in any longer people....OH GOD THE HEAT!!! We headed out of our hideous hell of a house this arvo to escape to my inlaws in BrisVegas. They have both air conditioning and a pool. We left so fast that our house looked as though we had evacuated  because Mt Vesuvius was about to erupt or something. Washing scattered everywhere, food on the bench, a cup of water on the floor, unmade beds. Poignant, deadset poignant. We are climate change refugees.

Amusing stuff that happened this week on my days of unpaid slavery at home include the following...

- I parked the cars too close together in the garage so when M went to get into the driver's seat he got pretty cross. He yelled at me to come out to the garage, so I could show some remorse for my ineptitude. Joke was on him however because as I watched him squeeze himself comically into the front door, folding his long legs in half to fit, this music was playing in the background on Classic FM. Thank you ABC for your excellent timing and dedication to slapstick humour.

- I came across P reciting the following sentence to herself in an ominous glimpse into her psyche..." I didn't do it, B___ did it. I didn't do it, B____ did it".

Terrifying, frankly. I guess she's finally worked out what a baby brother is for. Blaming shit on.

- P dressed up like this, and said "I'm going to the royal ball to marry Jesus and then we will dance together for everyone."

I know, I was confused too. Catholic daycare has a lot to answer for.

That's about it I think.

Stay cool amigos. If you can. If I could drive around 24 hours a day in our air conditioned car I would.

  1. Are you kidding? I'd be living in that car, revelling in the air-con. At least you had the in-laws to escape to. I hate extreme heat, it makes my whiskers wilt - not the best of looks!

    1. Sulky I am sorely tempted. We are back in the hot box tonight with only the pedestal fans to protect us. The horror.

  4. Last week I spent from 1-2am weeping and from 2-2.30am in the shower increasing the cold water.

    Summer can suck it.
